KLOPP WANTS DOUGLAS COSTA

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has identified Bayern Munich winger Douglas Costa as his next star at Anfield, according to reports in Germany.

Sport Bild claims the German coach would make a move for the player this summer. Liverpool should be able to match his £26 million transfer valuation.

Costa is expected to provide competition for Sadio Mane. The African has been sterling since his move from Southampton last summer. Injuries and his absence due to AFCON affected the team. It seems Klopp is focused on plugging all the hopes of this season. Costa would provide cover for the team on the flanks and contribute to the attacking prowess of the Reds.

Juventus and Tottenham are reportedly keen on the Brazilian as well. Klopp would have to convince the player to move to Anfield despite the other interested parties vying for his signature.

The player hinted that he might exit the Bayern set-up earlier this month. He said: “It depends on a few factors. The main factor being minutes played. I cannot comment on names, but there are contacts with teams from England, Spain, and also France. But we respect Bayern. I am still under contract until 2020.”

Costa named the Premier League as the best league in the world even though he said Spain would be easier to immerse himself. At Liverpool he would be assured I Love Man City of regular game time and Champions League football but not trophy is sure. At Bayern, he would be promised more minutes when the current wingers retire, top level competition and medals every year.
