Ex-Tottenham Man Jermaine Jenas Convinced With Divock Origi

Jermaine Jenas was a former midfielder for Tottenham. He is now an ITV pundit and an ex- Hotspur. The forward that Divock Origi had taken on Everton in their Europe League clash has made him believe that Liverpool had a rising star in their team. He says that Liverpool has a gem in Divock and should nurture him well.

The man has been seen in mixed forms and has made a total of 13 appearances yet. He has already recorded four goals and two assists in the little time. Jermaine has said that even though he has not made the cut this time he is sure to be a huge hit in the Premiere League and has been very strong with his point of view about the 19 year old Divock.

Jermaine has been talking about Divock on ITV and has complemented him again and again for his skills. He remarked that he had shown off great skills when he was up against Leighton Baines and that never fails to give everyone a great night and that he is an ever-willing runner.

There have been talks of bringing the man of the hour Origi over the channel as soon as possible. Most probably it is going to be after the winter transfer window so that the issue of goal-scoring of the club also gets solved. However, the director has shunned the idea. Jermaine strongly feels that the club shall try and put away all the hurdles and making it work out so that the promising man can show off his talent. It shall not be surprising at all if Liverpool soon calls him back and wants him back in the squad. He has said that how the collective effort of a team and its willingness can do wonders for a team.

Beckham Remains Active

It’s been over 1 year since David Beckham confirmed his retirement from playing professional competitive football but the Englishman still continues on being active even when it’s not playing in a pitch.

David Beckham maintains his connections with his former clubs as he took the chance to meet up with some of his former teammates and new arrivals of Real Madrid. The former Manchester United player visited Real Madrid’s training camp in Los Angeles during the recently concluded International Champions Cup and Beckham praised the Colombian James Rodriguez.

David Beckham said: ‘’He’s a great player, he had a great World Cup is a young player who is obviously very talented and he scored for me the best goal of the World Cup’’

One of the projects that Beckham has been trying to accomplish since completing his retirement from playing competitive football has been attempting to bring an MLS expansion team to Miami but this has encountered a series of setbacks which has delayed the team and stadium from being initiated but the Englishman has a high profile figure supporting him as Radamel Falcao revealed his full admiration towards what Beckham wants to accomplish.

“Miami has great potential to have a club. It has a huge Latin American population that is deeply passionate for this sport. I’m an advocate to have a stadium that’s easily accessible to the people, where they can have the opportunity to support their team and I think that David Beckham’s initiative needs to have full support from everyone, because this city deserves it.” The Colombian Radamel Falcao said.

During his playing days at the Santiago Bernabeu, David Beckham was part of the infamous ‘’Los Galacticos’’ team which consisted of world class players such as: Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo Nazario, Raul Gonzalez and Luis Figo which is still considered to be one of the best squads of all time.

NEYMAR LOVING MESSI

Barcelona striker Neymar has stated that he enjoys a great relationship with forward Lionel Messi at the club. The relationship between the two players has often been viewed with a lot of interest because many see Neymar as the replacement for Messi.

The Brazilian arrived at the club for a transfer fee believed to be in the region of £ 80 million, although Barcelona have been adamant that it is only around £ 40 million. Neymar is also thought to be earning roughly around the same figure as Messi. Continue reading NEYMAR LOVING MESSI

Dyke Discusses Betting Ban

completely to place any kind of bets on football matches.  Recently Dan Gosling from Newcastle United confessed to the FA that he has been betting on different Premier League matches; however he submitted his betting winning which was close to 5000 pounds to a charity run by the club. Previously Premier League players Cameron Jerome and Andros Townsend have been penalized heavily for breaching these rules.

Dyke reported to a popular television channel that although any final decision hasn’t been taken yet, but a ‘complete ban’ one betting is one of the few essential topics that are under discussion as of now.

The Football Association is looking at the topic much keenly regarding who at all should be allowed to indulge in betting in this industry, and with a very short span of time, they will introduce a policy to put a check on such acts. Scotland is one country which ensures full ban on betting, wherein the English clubs have the liberty to do so, under obvious restrictions. The current rules and regulation pertaining to betting on football has been clearly mentioned in the website of FA. Rule E8b clearly states no player will indirectly or directly bet on any game which they or their team is a part of along with the competition they have been or are a part of.

Along with that, the footballers are forbidden to place and kind of bets on a tournament or league in which he or his team has participated that season or will be participating in the future. The FA investigators have mentioned that charges against Gosling’s are related to multiple violations, which is why the midfielder, only of 24, has asked for a personal hearing with the FA to explain his situation.

STEP FORWARDS

The retired soccer star David Beckham and the Major League Soccer have taken a step forward in the project that the former PSG player has been playing in the last few years. Beckham wants to field a new Miami team and the local officials unanimously approved the efforts on finding an appropriate stadium location.

This was the first test in the political aspect of the soccer venture that Beckham is planning on doing. This vote has given the county officials authority to identify possible stadium sites and negotiate construction contracts with developers.

MLS arguably is the highest soccer league that is played in the United States and they have already stated the importance that is on getting a final stadium deal as well as a business plan before having approved a new team and squad.

‘’We can’t go to Miami without the right stadium solution,’’ MLS Commissioner Don Garber said during his state of the league address ahead of the MLS Cup final which was played in Kansas City in the beginning of December. ‘’David understands that, the city understands that, that is an undisputable fact,’’ he said.

Beckham who has played in Manchester United, Real Madrid and Ac.Milan as some of his career highlights wants to make a price cut of $25 million in his MLS contract to start a new franchise.

There still are a number of errands left to do including having to negotiate site plans with the county and leasing the port location which will help build a privately financed stadium. Miami’s top architecture firm, Arquitectonica, has also been hired to design the stadium.

Even though there still are a number of things left to do, Beckham said in an interview that the project is getting closer and closer to its completion.

“We’re almost there,” Beckham told the BBC in an interview.

ENGLAND CAN DO WELL

Former England international David Beckham has revealed that he is confident that the national team will have a great tournament at the World Cup 2014 in Brazil. England recently qualified for this competition automatically by finishing top of their group. The performances under Roy Hodgson have been steadily improving in the last few months and it has been largely down to the introduction of new and young players like Andros Townsend.

Beckham, who was part of several major tournaments with the England national team, has said that the presence of such young players will help England play without any pressure. The 38-year-old has experienced several heartaches with the national team, as England have failed to get past the quarter-finals of the major tournament in the last few decades. Beckham is one of the few English players to have played in three world cups. He recently retired from playing football after his six-month stint at PSG came to an end.

The 38-year-old is regarded as one of the finest England players of his generation. He has played for the likes of Manchester United, Real Madrid, AC Milan, and LA Galaxy during his illustrious career. He is currently looking forward to getting into football ownership by starting a MLS franchise.

“Roy has introduced a lot of young, talented players. When you go through a qualifying campaign, there’s always ups and downs, it’s like a roller coaster. You always go into competitions thinking you’re going to win it. I hope we can go all the way,” said Beckham. Despite their good showing in the last few World Cup qualifying matches, England are not favourites to win the World Cup. The likes of Spain, Italy and Germany are in the pecking order, while home team Brazil will also command a lot of respect at this tournament.

TOUGHEST JOB IN THE WORLD

David Moyes has admitted that being the manager of Manchester United is tougher than being the manager of any other club in the world.

This is Moyes’ first season as Manchester United boss and he is feeling the heat even before the start of the season.

Talking to the reporters yesterday, the Scot admitted that he hasn’t found life easy at Old Trafford, but, at the same time, he also said that he is trying hard to adjust.

Moyes said, “It’s not easy to be a Manchester United manager. You are under the scanner all the time. The pressure is immense.”

“I managed Everton for quite a while and I enjoyed there. But, I will have to admit that United’s level is different. It can’t be compared to any other club in the world to be honest. The fan following, the media attention, everything is phenomenal at this club.”

“I am desperately waiting for the season to begin. It must be special to enter Old Trafford as the manager of Manchester United. I am looking forward to that moment.”

In the pre-season games, United hasn’t had much success. Out of the 6 pre-season games that they played, the Red Devils managed to win only a couple.

Manchester United will have the chance to win their first trophy of the season when they take on Wigan Athletic in the Community Shield match on Sunday at the Wembley Stadium.

When asked about that match, Moyes said, “It would be wonderful to kick off the season on a winning note. If we manage to win Community shield, the credit of that will go to Sir Alex. He guided us to the Premier League title last season and that’s because we are playing the community shield game.”

THE BRAZILIAN BECKHAM

Brazilian superstar Neymar, who recently completed a £ 50 million move to Barcelona, has been regarded as a fashion icon back in his home country. He has been compared with England superstar David Beckham, who has been regarded as one for the last decade. Beckham came through the ranks at Manchester United before going on to create a rich history with the likes of Real Madrid and AC Milan. He has won all the major trophies like the Champions League, while he is also the first Englishman to have lifted league titles in four different countries.

Beckham is viewed as one of the icons of the metrosexual world. Neymar has said that he is similar to Beckham in a number of respects, but he does not think that he can match the former United superstar. Neymar has admitted that he does shave his legs, which is seen as one of the metrosexual things of the modern world. Unlike most men, Neymar has said that he also prefers shopping a lot as well. Despite spending a lot of money on grooming products, Neymar has said that he does not think he is a metrosexual man and does not want to be compared with Beckham.

“Yes, it is true that I like to go out and buy new clothes, nice perfumes and hair products. I also shave my legs for example. I do not see myself as a metrosexual, though. That was more something for Beckham, who was more stylish. I might be a bit pretentious, but I don’t see that as a problem. I occasionally jump and dive, but only to protect myself. I want to make sure that defenders cannot injure me,” said Neymar about his metrosexual nature and diving allegations.

The 21-year-old has been criticised for going to the ground too easily.

BECKHAM RETIRES

One of the celebrated footballers of his generation, England midfielder David Beckham has announced his retirement from football at the end of the season. In a career spanning more than 20 years, he has played for some of the biggest clubs in the world like Real Madrid, Manchester United, and AC Milan. He has also played for MLS club LA Galaxy, which helped raise the profile of the game to a significant extent in the United States. He is currently playing for French club Paris St Germain at the age of 38.

He has decided to have his boots at the end of the season while playing at the top-level. During his illustrious career, Beckham has managed to win all major trophies with Manchester United. He has won league titles in four different countries, thus becoming the only English player to do so. Beckham moved to Paris in January on a five month deal, while it was heavily rumoured that he may extend his stay by another 12 months at the end of the season. However, he has decided to hang his boots when he is still playing at the top level.

The midfielder’s final match of his career will come against Lorient. PSG recently sealed their first league title in 19 years.

“I’m thankful to PSG for giving me the opportunity to continue but I feel now is the right time to finish my career, playing at the highest level. If you had told me as a young boy I would have played for and won trophies with my boyhood club Manchester United, proudly captained and played for my country over 100 times and lined up for some of the biggest clubs in the world, I would have told you it was a fantasy,” said David Beckham after announcing his retirement.

AC FOCUS ON LEAGUE

After being knocked out of the Champions league, AC Milan now have only the league to focus from now till the end of the campaign. The Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri has said that all the games are important from now to the end of the campaign if they are to finish in the top three positions. Milan have managed to pick themselves up from a position where they were thinking about finishing in the part of the table to possibly finishing the season in the top two. In fact, Milan are just 11 points behind the table leaders Juventus.

As a result, there is an outside chance that they may even win the title. Allegri has said that he will not give up on the hopes of winning the title this season. However, he has asked his players to treat every game like a cup final in order to achieve the dream. Allegri saw his team extended their impressive league record in recent months after yet another victory during the weekend. The 2-0 win over Palermo means that they have closed the gap on second placed Napoli to just two points. The club still has matches against the top two – Napoli and Juventus – in the league.

“There are nine games left and we need to stay calm and maintain balance. We’ll be looking to win or at least draw the remaining games. All the games are important now. The substitutes are always important and this was a good step towards getting to second place even though it’ll be tough,” said the Milan manager. However, there are concerns about the fixture list of the seven time European champions. Aside from the Napoli and Juventus, Milan will also have to face Fiorentina as well. The team have a three-point advantage over Fiorentina in the fourth place.
