Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed that midfielder Aaron Ramsey will be returning to training ahead of the club’s Community Shield game against Chelsea over the weekend.
The Wales international missed the open training session on Thursday, and this led to suggestions that he may have suffered an injury which could potentially keep him out of the Wembley showpiece on Sunday.
The Welshman has had his injury concerns over the years with his 2016/17 season being disrupted in the season opener against Liverpool where he suffered a hamstring problem. To add to the misery, he produced one of his worst performances against Watford in the second half of the campaign where his lack of mental awareness allowed the Hornets to bag two goals before being subbed halfway through the first period with an injury.
With Alexis Sanchez just having returned to full training, Ramsey has been identified as the player who could potentially produce the moment of magic when required, and Wenger has assured that both he and Ozil will train on Saturday after having recovered from minor muscle and ankle problems respectively, he said: Continue reading Aaron Ramsey fit for Community Shield clash
With a season that ended with a fake treble, the shot callers at Manchester United appear to have once again given Ed Woodward the free reign of bolstering the squad.
Funny thing is as they do all these spending in hope to restore the club’s status to the heights Sir Alex Ferguson put them, their dealings for the past three years have been one of doing everything contrary to how the Scot built this team for 27 years.
The 75-year old was an advocate of mixing a baseline of youth with proven experience while all the same valuing noble work ethics over needless paparazzi.
For a start, no matter how much they do everything in their power to ignore the warning signs, instead allow three scrappy piece of silver ware blind them from reality, Mourinho’s belief and culture and mode of operation is going to drive them further away from the identity sirs Busby and Alex toiled to establish, an identity that gave them the very thing they are spending millions and selling the club’s soul to get. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has identified Bayern Munich winger Douglas Costa as his next star at Anfield, according to reports in Germany.

Costa is expected to provide competition for Sadio Mane. The African has been sterling since his move from Southampton last summer. Injuries and his absence due to AFCON affected the team. It seems Klopp is focused on plugging all the hopes of this season. Costa would provide cover for the team on the flanks and contribute to the attacking prowess of the Reds.
Juventus and Tottenham are reportedly keen on the Brazilian as well. Klopp would have to convince the player to move to Anfield despite the other interested parties vying for his signature. Continue reading KLOPP WANTS DOUGLAS COSTA

Liverpool attacker Adam Lallana on Wednesday scored twice and set up another to gift The Reds a much-needed mood-lifting 3-nil win away at Middlesbrough.
After the heart breaking loss against Bournemouth and draw against West Ham United Jurgen Klopp’s men travelled to the Riverside stadium hoping to turn their misfortunes around and they did just that.
One major change to the Merseyside outfit’s starting line-up was Simon Mignolet in place of under-fire Lloris Karius. The former Mainz shot-stopper has had his hand full with outrages from fans and criticisms from pundits most notably Phil and Garry Neville within these past two weeks.
Mignolet was hardly called into action as Aitor Karanka’s men blunt attack failed to ask questions of The Reds’ otherwise weak defence – Liverpool have conceded more than any other team in the top six – or did they create any meaningful chance to have a go at the visitor’s back line.
The Reds started the game with ameasured pace, poking around the home sides’ crowded defence until Adam Lallana’s 29th minute brilliant finish sparked Jurgen Klopp’s men to action. Sadio Mane came close on more than one occasion while wasting the chances created. Lallana’s brilliance however saw the reds go 2-0 up at the 60th minute after some clever footwork from the England international set up Divick Origi to score his fifth goal in as many matches.
