The former Liverpool striker David Ngog has hailed the arrival of the Liverpool midfielder Jay Spearing, who has recently completed his move to the Reebok stadium on a season long loan deal. David Ngog already knows Jay Spearing extremely well after playing alongside him at Anfield. The 23-year-old recently completed the switch to Reebok stadium after falling down the pecking order in the new look team by Brendan Rodgers. Jay Spearing was one of the crucial members of the Liverpool team that won the Carling cup last season. However, his form in the second half of the campaign has let him down badly.
It is expected that Liverpool will be recalling him after the end of his loan spell. However, David Ngog, who used to play for Liverpool under the reign of Rafa Benitez, has said that he is delighted to once again play alongside Spearing and is confident that he will have a major impact on the season for Bolton Wanderers. It has not been a good start for the club after they are currently in the 18th position in the table with only three victories from the eight matches played so far. They have conceded more than a goal per game, which should be arrested according to David Ngog.
“I think he is a great player for us. You can give Jay the ball and know that he will keep possession, and he helps the defence because of his position. He can pass the ball as well, and I think he is showing people what he can do here at Bolton. For me, he is a complete midfielder, a complete player. I played for a few years with him at Liverpool and watched him grow as a player,” said David Ngog, who is yet to score in four appearances this season.
